We acknowledge the presence of steadfast traditionalists who prioritize high performance and optimal fit in harnesses with a traditional webbing configuration. With this in mind, we are pleased to introduce the Elite Carbon Type 1, designed specifically in a webbing configuration. Featuring the 12K Carbon Step-2 hard-shell, fully enveloped in a neoprene liner and internal closed- cell Fusion foam, the Elite Carbon Type 1 offers the same meticulous attention to biometric data shaping and scientific fit as its Hyperlock counterpart, all within a webbing-based design. With the inclusion of the TRAD spreader, this harness sets new standards that exceed traditional expectations.

Utilizing biometric analysis and advanced movement design, the composite Step-2 Hard-Shell within the Ride Engine harness lineup provides enhanced torsional flex. This is ideal for riders seeking the support of a hard-shell harness while also desiring a more liberated sensation.

 

4 Point Webbing Retention

High-grade, tight weave, stretch and slip resistant webbing retention.

 

Trad Spreader Bar Equipped

Robust confidence inspiring construction boasting an industry leading 8mm stainless steel hook,
pre-curved stabilization wings, and Mega Spreader Bar pad comfort.

 

Full Neoprene Wrap with EVA Anti-Slip Inserts

The neoprene interface at critical contact points is designed to prevent rashes,
complemented by EVA inserts that effectively eliminate unwanted twisting of the harness.

 

Multiple Leash Attachment Options

Removable handle pass leash attachment and ambidextrous front leash mounting options. • Internal Elastic Waist Belt: Single closure waist belt provides a secure fit and easy adjustment.

 

Hook Knife Pocket

Convenient, easy access hook knife storage pocket. (Knife sold separately)

Internal ergonomic Fusion closed-cell foam padding, seamlessly fused with the composite Step-2 hard shell, and combined with the Hyperlock spreader bar system all equal a recipe that is found in the Elite Series harnesses that equate to one of the lightest harnesses available today coming in at just 1KG for a size M.

 

Why Still Use Webbing?

Harnesses incorporating webbing first emerged in 1974 with the pioneering work of Pat Love and Ken Klied, who recognized its exceptional combination of strength, flexibility, and reliability, particularly suited for windsurfing. Since then, harness technology has undergone numerous advancements, yet webbing persists as a cornerstone in traditionalist designs for both windsurfing and kiteboarding. It’s this legacy that Ride Engine celebrates by featuring webbing-based spreader bar connections in its select harness offerings.
