Highlights
- Early planing and superior upwind performance
- Centre V-Spine and longitudinal quad channels
- Phenomenal pop for lightwind tricks and transitions
Where it thrives
In the lightest wind
What riders say
"The Trace adds light-years to what I can do on an 11m in less than 12knots." - Marc Jacobs
First out, last in
Light wind? No problem. The all-new Trace has a progressive straight, square outline and large surface area for early planing and upwind performance in the lightest winds. A Centre-V Spine and longitudinal quad channels provide balanced torsional stiffness, superb traction and more control. The progressive medium-low rocker is ideal for flatwater. It also enables phenomenal pop for lightwind tricks and transitions and surprising manoeuvrability for its size. Pair the Trace with our Reach 13/15/17m to maximise your ride time in the lightest of winds.
Early planing and superior upwind performance
A combination of extra waterline length, a straighter, square outline, wide tips and medium rocker guarantees early planing and upwind performance in the lightest wind.
Centre V-Spine and longitudinal quad channels
Quad concave channels with V-spine in the middle provide added stiffness and help to deflect the water, thus creating less drag and less resistance across the board’s surface. The channels and V-spine also help with upwind traction and high-speed control.
Phenomenal pop for lightwind tricks and transitions
The progressive medium-low rocker is flatter in the centre then pulls up towards the tips. This rocker line is ideal for flatwater, and it creates a board with phenomenal pop that is suprisingly manouevrable and easy turning despite its size.
Pair with the 13/15/17 m Reach Kite
For quick, responsive steering and a predictable, consistent drive forward for TwinTip riding in even the lightest wind.
Technology
Early planing and superior upwind performance
The combination of extra waterline length, a straighter, square outline, wide tips and medium rocker guarantees early planing and upwind performance in the lightest wind. The board’s larger surface area helps you build up resistance against the kite for greater forward momentum.
Centre V-Spine and longitudinal quad channels
The quad concave channels with V-spine in the middle provide added stiffness and help to deflect the water, thus creating less drag and less resistance across the board’s surface. The channels and V-spine also help with upwind traction and high-speed control.

Fine-tuned flex
The flex characteristic of every TwinTip Board is determined by multiple features built into each specific design. Core thickness variations and taper, as well as detailing, longitudinally and laterally, play the most significant role in controlling the overall flex and feel. Board specific laminate layups then allow us to further fine tune the flex and board characteristics. We adjust the stiffness lengthwise and torsionally in conjunction with the rocker line, plan shape view and profile of the board, to give each board its specific performance characteristics.
Hybrid carbon construction
Strategically placed layers of unidirectional carbon tape reinforce the E-glass laminate for well-balanced flex so you can ride for longer, with flow and form. This unique layup is sandwiched with a Paulownia wood core and reinforced with e-glass patches in high load areas.
Durable ABS rail
For long-lasting, impact-resistant performance.
Ergonomic handle
Lightweight over-moulded TPE handle, for ultimate grip when wet.
Lightweight, impact resistant paulownia wood core
Paulownia is a highly renewable hardwood species, with one of the highest strength to weight ratios. Ultra-lightweight, with a high shear force and high impact resistance, Paulownia wood forms a non-toxic core which significantly displaces the amount of foam or resin used in manufacturing, thereby reducing carbon emissions. Each board has a customised core thickness individually fine-tuned to ensure its characteristics are consistent throughout the range, no matter your size or weight.
Recommended with Flex Bindings
Soft cushioning with just the right amount of grip underfoot. Pure-comfort seamless KnitFlex inners and triple-density GripFlex footbeds are combined with customised size and stance adjustments for a locked-in feel and dependable support. Sold separately in sizes S/M or M/L.

Ideal for use with the 13/15/17m Reach
Naturally playful and easy to ride, with high-performance attributes to guarantee you’ll never grow out of it. The Reach’s fuller profile generates power and efficiency, while its lighter weight 3-strut construction delivers quick, responsive steering in even the lightest wind. In the three larger sizes, the Reach is a powerful lightwind kite, designed with a predictable, consistent drive forward for TwinTip riding long after everyone else has gone in.
